DIRECTOR’S BIOGRAPHY

ANN DEBORAH LEVY is an artist and filmmaker. Though originally trained as a painter, she has also made photographs and installations. In the 1980’s she designed and performed in experimental theater, primarily with Abreaction Theatre, a collaboration of artists of many disciplines. Excited by the interdisciplinary aspects of theater but in search of a visual medium, she began making films in the late 1990’s. Her art work and films have been shown in festivals, art galleries, and alternative venues in the U.S. and Europe. She has been awarded Yaddo and MacDowell Colony fellowships.

Waterscape: illusions and Watercolors are her most recent films. She is currently at work on two digital video projects that explore what travelers record in images, diaries, and letters.
